How to Choose a Studio Pilates Reformer
How to Choose a Studio Pilates Reformer
A studio reformer works all day, every day. Different clients, different body types, class after class. The right machine keeps your clients happy and your instructors confident. Follow these 6 steps.
Step 1: Know Your Clients and Classes
Ask yourself:
- Are you teaching group classes, private sessions or both?
- Will you serve beginners, rehab clients or advanced clients?
- Will the room also be used for mat or barre classes?
Your answers help you pick the right features and the right number of machines.
Step 2: Choose a Strong Frame
The frame must handle daily use without wobbling.
- Wood: Warm look and a steady feel. Browse wood reformers.
- Aluminum: Lighter and modern. Browse aluminum reformers.
Studio models have strong joints and tough springs, which matters when a machine is used for hours each day.
Step 3: Check the Carriage and Springs
Carriage: It should glide smoothly and feel comfortable for every client. A smooth glide also helps the machine last longer. The Core Collab Queen 2.0 has an 8-wheel ABEC 7 carriage.
Springs: More springs give you more resistance options. You need light settings for rehab and beginners, and heavier settings for advanced clients. Most of our studio models have 5 or 6 springs.
Step 4: Look for Adjustments and Upgrades
Every client is different, so choose a machine that adjusts to them. Check the footbar and headrest.
Want more exercise options from one machine? Look at a reformer with tower or a Cadillac. You can also add a chair and accessories as your studio grows.
Step 5: Plan Your Space
Measure your room and count how many machines it can hold. Leave space around each one so clients and instructors can move safely.
If your room has many uses, a foldable reformer can help you clear the floor between classes.
Tip: Use the same model for every machine. It makes teaching, cleaning and repairs easier.
Step 6: Check Price, Warranty and Support
Look at the full value, not just the price tag.
- Warranty: It changes by brand and model, so check each product page.
- Financing: We offer 0% financing.
- Shipping: Free shipping across the US. See our shipping policy.
- Price match: See our price match policy.
- Support: Our team can help you compare models and plan your layout.
